Marci Auston, Owner, President of Slate

As the President of Slate and part of the ownership team of Elements, Marci is the strategic and creative conscience of the furniture studio within the Elements house of brands, helping organizations navigate human-centered workplace strategies that unlock human potential.  She imbues the company with her passion for people, teamwork, the journey, and relevance through constant curiosity and embracing and driving change.

She began her journey with OfficeScapes (now Slate) 30 years ago and has performed a vast array of roles in sales, marketing, project management, account management, business development, sales and design management, and senior leadership, prior to becoming the President of OfficeScapes through the merger with Elements in June 2022.

Marci is a current member of the Steelcase Dealer Council, and will be leading a new workstream on sustainability in this capacity. She has been actively engaged with the Steelcase dealer community through various Communities of  Practice including Sales Leadership and Dealer Design/Real Estate Alliances, as well as the Dealer Council Workstream for Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging.  Over the years, Marci has presented at numerous Dealer Conferences and Sales Leader COPs – she loves learning about and sharing best practices.  Marci is a member of the Steelcase Dealer Vistage group and Solomon Coyle.

Marci is an active member of the Denver community in both the community service and business arenas.  In addition to volunteer and fundraising work with a variety of community organizations, Marci is a graduate of the prestigious Leadership Denver program and served on the Leadership Council for Prosper Colorado, currently she is on the Downtown Denver Partnership’s Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Accessibility Committee. She has been the President and Membership chair of CoreNet Colorado Chapter, an active participant in IIDA, and is currently the Vice President of Golden Retriever Rescue of the Rockies and serves as their Marketing Committee Chair.

Marci is a Colorado native who lives in Denver with her husband who is an artist, at least 1 (rescued!) Golden Retriever and a very sassy (also rescued!) cat. She is an explorer and lifelong learner who loves travel, and everything outdoors that Colorado offers:  skiing, hiking, camping, golf, dining al fresco and patio cocktails.  Marci holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from Metropolitan State University.
